The NISSIN FOODS Group transitioned to a holding company structure in 2008, when NISSIN FOODS HOLDINGS CO., LTD. instituted a corporate structure in which the holding company provides cross-organizational support to six operating companies in Japan and four overseas business regions. To realize the Group’s philosophy EARTH FOOD CREATOR, we will strive always to maintain a flexible, proactive posture and resolutely face and appropriately respond to a changing business environment by implementing three strategies:

  1. strengthening of earning power in the domestic business;
  2. speeding up growth in the overseas business; and
  3. enhancement of common groupwide platform capabilities as a global company.

For years after the 2nd world war, Mr. Momofuku Ando felt heart broken while seeing the Japanese queue up to buy ramen noodle in a small market in the freezing cold. From this moment he was determined to invent a convenient noodle which could preserve in normal temperature and be cooked right at home. Now we call it instant noodle.

  • 1958, MR. MOMOFUKU ANDO INVENTED THE FIRST INSTANT NOODLE, CHICKEN RAMEN, AND INITIATED NISSIN FOODS PRODUCT CO., LTD.

 

Since then, the instant noodle industry has been established and has expanded all over the world.

  • 1971, “CUP NOODLE” WAS BORN.

 

The first cup type of instant noodles in the world, changed eating culture of the whole world. It helped consumers to eat anytime and anywhere.

  • 1999, THE INSTANT RAMEN MUSEUM OPENED IN THE BIRTHPLACE OF INSTANT RAMEN, IKEDA CITY, OSAKA PREFECTURE.

 

An interactive food museum, the Instant Ramen Museum teaches the importance of invention and discovery and the entrepreneurial spirit through the history of instant ramen.

  • 2005, INVENTED “SPACE RAM”.

 

Mr. Ando continued to invent “Space Ram”, the first instant noodles for astronauts launch in the space shuttle. With those great achievements, Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd. is the best-selling instant noodle company in Japan. Moreover, Nissin spreads out globally and quickly with factories in 19 countries in the World.

HISTORY

2011

Established Nissin Foods Vietnam Co., Ltd. with investment capital up to USD 41 million.

2009

Capital alliance with MAREVEN FOOD HOLDINGS LIMITED (formerly, ANGLESIDE LIMITED), a Russian instant noodle holding company.

2006

MYOJO FOODS CO., LTD. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissin Foods; Food Safety Evaluation & Research Institute CO., LTD. began operation in Shanghai, China.

2005

Nissin Foods marked a world first with its Space Ram, developed for the space shuttle Discovery.

1994

Guangdong Shunde Nissin Foods Co., Ltd. Nissin-Universal Robina Corporation, Shizuoka Plant and Shanghai Nissin Foods Co., Ltd. began operation.

1994

Nissin Foods (Thailand) Co., Ltd. began operation.

1993

Nissin Foods GmbH established in Germany; PT. NISSINMAS began operation.

1992

Long-life fresh noodles developed; Nissin RAOH introduced.

1988

Construction of Tokyo Head Office building completed; Central Research Institute began operation.

1984

Nissin Foods Co., Ltd. established in Hong Kong.

1975

Shimonoseki Plant began operation; Nissin-Ajinomoto Alimentos Ltda. established in  São Paulo, Brazil.

1971

Cup Noodle introduced; Kanto Plant began operation.

1970

Nissin Foods (U.S.A.) Co., Inc., the Company’s first overseas operation, established in Gardena, California.

1958

Chicken Ramen, the world’s first instant noodle product, introduced; Company name changed to Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd.

1948

Chukososha Co., Ltd. established.
